Final day of Con of the North. Lots of miniature tabletop gaming going on. It's really cool to walk through the main gaming room to see these micro landscapes that people have spent countless hours building just to play a game.

Second day of Con of the North. Justin ran a game this year called "Dungeon Circuit". It was a mashup of classic dungeon raiding, reality TV, and late night infomercials. Fantastic!

First day of Con of the North. Had fun starting the day with a few games, but this really made me go "HUH???" when I was checking into the hotel. The sign in the picture is 3 feet away from the front desk...

Getting ready for Con of the North. Three days of every kind of gaming imaginable...board games, card games, tabletop miniatures, computer games, roleplaying, you name it. We stock up on food and beverages to bring along since there isn't anywhere convenient to grab food, plus it keeps costs down. Pack a cooler and leave it in the hotel room, and we're good to go for the next 72 hours...I hope I got enough energy drinks to last me the weekend. :D

Got this in the mail the other day. Another addition to my Atwood pocket tool collection. This one is called the "Brewdriver". It's a bottle opener and a flat head screwdriver. I realized that some of my favorite pieces all have bottle openers on them, so this one really appealed to me. Never fails to impress/bewilder people when you have a bottle opener with you, especially an unconventional one. :)

It is really hard to take pictures of snowflakes. Just sayin'...

What in the holy hell did I do to my hand to bruise it like this? I woke up and got in the shower, only to experience sharp pain in my left hand as I was washing my hair. Noticed the bruises after I got out. I honestly don't remember injuring myself in any way recently that would have caused this...???

Went out with daireen and her beau. It was a tequila kind of night for us...because I swear that is all that was in those giant fishbowl glasses they gave us.

My coworker Rachel's birthday was today. She is also a super ninja space monkey. At least at her party after a few drinks she was...

After today, this is exactly how I feel about where my financial situation has me right now. the credit card that I've had for 13 years had a ridiculously high credit limit on it (Approx. $24,000). Not that I ever would use it, but it was nice knowing I had a financial backup in dire situations that I could fall back on. Today, I got a letter that they had reduced it to about $3,200, which is lower than the current balance of what the card has. Doubly screwed over by them. Nothing left to fall back on, and a huge instant overage feet to boot. Never missed a payment in 13 years, and they stab me and my credit rating in the back. And it just so happens I needed to finally use it next week to fix my car since the power steering failed earlier this week and needs to be replaced. This is a perfect example of my ongoing epic bad luck....ugh.

Received a small Woot! in the mail today! :D

Another day at the target range. Happy target is happy.

I highly suggest this game. Easy to play for up to 8 people and super fun! Bacon, lumberjacks, and chainsaws...who wouldn't have fun?

Zombie targets. Yes, I am preparing for the coming zombie apocalypse, aren't you? ;)

Last day of shooting hockey....phew. I just worked a full week's hours in the last 3 days. I need about 3 days in a row to just sleep now...

14 hours today of freezing my butt off to take pictures of hockey. It's fun, but damn it's exhausting...

Shooting hockey this weekend, and lots of it. Going to be putting 13+ hours on the ice tomorrow. Anyone wanna bring me some chicken soup and hot chocolate?

This is a small portion of a number of pocket tools I collect made by Peter Atwood. Amazing little things; functional pieces of utilitarian art, you could say. This makes me a bit sad, but I have to sell off a portion of my collection to help pay bills. Hopefully they make it to a good home where they will get used well!
