Had an interesting encounter today. A turkey was holding up traffic and attacking school buses. I topped to take a few pictures, and had to laugh because no one was doing anything about it. Traffic was backed up several blocks, so I finally got out of my car and chased it into a yard so traffic could continue. I ran back to the car and noticed he was chasing me down the road. Guess he didn't like that I interrupted his fun...
Found this abandoned barn near a newly developed area between Osseo and Coon Rapids. Appears that the owners most likely sold their property to developers of the nearby town homes, and the farmhouse and barn are the last remnants.
Apologies if I happened to have just spammed anyone's friend's list with a week's worth of postings. It's so damn busy at work that I just can't keep up with it on a daily basis right now. Hopefully in a week or two I'll start getting use to the hectic schedule. Nah, who am I kidding...
Went to the eighth floor of a building downtown to get this shot. Had to nearly lean out an open window to do so. My knees were a bit shaky after it was all said and done with, but the shot turned out great. Compiled as an HDR image.
Probably the weirdest Black Friday I've ever had. Had to work Friday, and the store was crazy busy. As in busy with crazies. This woman made me take a picture of her teeth. That was the only way she'd buy a camera from me. WTF???
Yeah, so got way behind in my daily posting again, almost a week this time. I promised myself I wouldn't let this happen, but there it is. I guess that's a sign of how busy and burnt out I'm getting from work now that it's "holiday season". And it's just starting. I hope I make it past Christmas with my sanity...
My CotN event schedule booklet came in the mail today. I need to get in gear and register early this year, instead of waiting until the last day in previous years. I might actually get into the events I want then...
Well, this is kind of cheating for a "picture of the day" but it's a screen grab of what my day consisted of, or more appropriately, what it should have consisted of. I waited three days for this, and the site crashed as I was checking out, so no bag of crap for me this time...so very close.
While out wandering the city looking for a place to stop and relax, I found a park that was directly in line with the airport's runway. Don't come to this park if you want to relax...
Had a bit of time to stroll through some parks for a little geocaching today. Even though the sun was out, there were a few of these velvet leaf plants that still had frost/ice on them during the afternoon...
The second of several "art" water towers hidden in various neighborhoods in the Twin Cities. This one is located near Kenwood Park. (I believe it's actually called Kenwood Park Tower).
Out and about this Friday. Here is a marvelous art deco water tower which was built in the 1 located in "Tangle Town". It has medieval knights guarding the base and eagles surrounding the top.
